Best fashion clothing store: The White Room
This fabulous newcomer has been open for just over a year, but has already made a mark on the local fashion scene. The White Room is the concept store for edgy Hamilton label Nyne, run by designer pals Miranda Dawson, Tina Patrick, and Jacob Scott-Simmonds.
As well as a successful first-time appearance at Air New Zealand Fashion Week this September, the busy trio is doing well with their Ward St retail store.
In a long white space adjacent to Scotts on Ward, The White Room not only stocks Nyne, but other cool fashion labels including Stolen Girlfriends Club, Salasai, Chronicles of Never and Deadly Ponies.
It's a store with a focus on forward-thinking design-led labels, for those who want to be on the cutting edge of fashion. It's also been named by leading fashion website, Runwayreporter.co.nz as their "pick for the place not-to-miss in Hamilton" which shows already the store is gathering a reputation beyond the Waikato.
However, despite it being a cult destination, The White Room never feels exclusive or snobbish. Staff are welcoming and friendly, and knowledgeable about their labels. Congratulations to the young team, who are passionate, driven and hard working.
